Who Can Apply for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF)?

To apply for the Junior Research Fellowship, candidates must fulfill the following eligibility conditions.

Educational Qualification

Applicants should have:

1. A Master's degree in the relevant subject from a recognized university.
2. Minimum 55% marks for General category.
3. Minimum 50% marks for OBC, SC, ST and PwD candidates.

NET Qualification

Applicants must have qualified:

1. UGC NET, or
2. UGC-CSIR NET Examination.

Age Limit

1. Maximum 30 years for General category.
2. 5 years relaxation is available for: (OBC, SC, ST, PwD and Women candidates)

Nationality

The applicant must be an Indian citizen.

Selected candidates will receive financial assistance during their research period.

Fellowship Duration

The total duration of the fellowship (JRF + SRF) will be up to 5 years.

Leave and Other Benefits

Selected research scholars will also receive the following benefits.

1. Maximum 30 days leave in a year (excluding public holidays).
2. Women scholars are eligible for 180 days maternity leave as per Government rules.
3. Women scholars can also avail up to 2 years of intermittent break (Flexi Time).
4. Casual leave is also available as per rules.

Who Can Apply for Senior Fellowship?

Senior Fellowship is meant for experienced researchers working in the field of social sciences.

Eligibility

Applicants should:

1. Be an Indian researcher.
2. Hold a Ph.D. degree.
3. Have significant research contributions.
4. Have publications in books or reputed journals.

Age Limit

Candidates should be:

1. Not below 45 years
2. Not above 70 years

(as on the last date of application)

Important Conditions

1. Candidates who previously received Sant Kabir Academy Post-Doctoral Fellowship or Research Project funding must maintain a minimum gap of 2 years before applying.
2. A person cannot receive the same fellowship more than once.

Senior Fellowship Duration

The Senior Fellowship is:

1. Full-time research.
2. Duration of 2 years.
3. No extension will be granted.

For regular faculty members working in publicly funded institutions, salary protection and other admissible benefits will be provided according to the rules.

Important Rules Every Applicant Should Know

Mandatory Stay

Every selected fellow must stay for at least 60 days at:

1. Sant Kabir Academy, Maghar, or
2. Another institution associated with Sant Kabir.

Progress Reports

For JRF

Annual progress report must be submitted every year.

For Senior Fellowship

Progress report must be submitted every 3 months to the Director, Sant Kabir Academy.

The fellowship amount will be released only after approval by the Research Committee.

Publication Requirement

Selected fellows must publish at least two research papers related to their research topic in:

1. Peer-reviewed journals, or
2. Edited books.

Copyright

The copyright of the final research report will remain with Sant Kabir Academy.

Every publication must acknowledge the support received from Sant Kabir Academy.

Restrictions

During the fellowship period:

1. You cannot accept another fellowship.
2. You cannot work on another funded research project.
3. You cannot take up a regular job.
4. No disciplinary or legal proceedings should be pending against the applicant.
